I remeber one that was terrible….the version of Wasted Years that Ryan Adams did on the Californication soundtrack. Ive only have iThings….and hook them into a car via lightning or 30pin….i do remember having that happen some long ago. I am curious why i stopped having the issue you describe. Im a big shuffler for mobile listening….and never at the house. Apps like Audirvana or Foobar use Replaygain….iTunes and my phone use Soundcheck. You CAN see the value inside iTunes under “song info”….the last tab will say how much its turning it up or down.Īll my files have both.

I edited my post above with a link of how to change the tag, apparently after you copied it, as i saw Soundcheck’s isnt a manual friendly thing. Tags are also where title and artist and year info and such are stored. It just tells the app playing it back how much to turn the level up or down. Whether Soundcheck or the later, non Apple Replaygain, an app analyzes the track and writes how much to turn it up or down into a field in the file’s tag. ID3 tags are where all this information is stored.

I’m presuming it’s something to do with the audio coming directly from the iPod itself (like when I’ve headphones in) versus having it plugged into a headunit which then takes control over the iPods settings?Ĭan anyone explain what this is all about and if there is a work-around? When I play ‘Powerage’ through either of these CHM is blasting loud again compared to the other tracks. The problem arises when I plug the iPod into either my car double din head unit, via a plug-in iPod cable or to my home stereo which has an iPod dock. It sounds about the same volume as the other tracks. Now, this works fine when I’m listening to my iPod via headphones or have it plugged into a speaker. Therefore I have gone into my iTunes settings and reduced the volume slightly on CHM and volume-matched it with the Powerage tracks. And due to the compression of latter-day AC/DC re-issues ‘Cold Hearted Man’ is significantly louder than the tracks on my original cd of Powerage. The adempt to play such a track produces the feedback No track could be found. These tracks miss album artwork or show wrong album artwork.

(This track was originally on the UK lp but left off cd re-releases). Audirvana shows duplicate tracks of the same album Playlist, Favorites and Sorting o99 October 1, 2021, 5:19pm 1 With different albums Audirvana Mac 3.5.29 shows certain tracks twice. I have added ‘Cold Hearted Man’ from AC/DC’s 2009 ‘Backtracks’ boxset to my original 80’s cd of Powerage. Some tracks I have altered the volume via my iTunes, for e.g. My iPod Classic (which is modded with an SDXC card) seems to have different volumes on specific tracks when I compare playing it on headphones versus connecting it to a car headunit/home stereo.
